Preschool Counting Mats
Traffic Counting Mats
Use the counting cards to add the correct number of cars, cones, and traffic signs to the mat. Use traffic cones and signs from traffic play sets or cute them out of orange and red paper.
Transportation Sort and Count
Does it go in the sky or water? Sort and count boats, clouds, helicopters, airplanes, and hot air balloons onto the mat. We used foam stickers and our favorite transportation counters in addtion to cotton balls for this one.
Count and Compare Traffic Tools
Line up the the cones and stop signs. You can compare to see which number is larger. This can also be good for non-standard measurement.
Transportation Color Sort and Count
We used a combination of our favorite cars and transportation counters to line these cars up by color and compare the numbers.
Land, Sea, or Sky Counting Mat
We love the combination of counting and sorting by land, sky or sea for this activity. It covers several skills all in one.
Count and Compare Transportation
For this activity kids can sort between land and water transportation. They’ll get to count and compare the numbers as they go.
For this activity you can sort buses, cars and trains. Count them and place them on the correct place on the mat.
Count and Compare Trains and Cars
Trains or Cars – Which are their more of? We used our transporation counters but you can also use play train toys.
