Learning about Bugs is one of the most popular activities for preschoolers. It provides opportunities to go outside and explore bugs and insects. You’ll practice counting, patterns, and identifying bugs by their attributes. The Bugs themes is a great addition to spring or summer lesson plans, all for just $7.50.
The Bug Activities Binder is packed with a variety of preschool skills practice, all while playing with toys, playdough, and common craft supplies. Best part, it’s grab and go!
Why are our Themed Preschool Binders so popular with moms and teachers…
- Building Independence: Kids are able to work on their own or in small groups at their table to use their binders. It encourages them to self-start and learn/play on their own.
- Easy Prep: Print and slip the pages into sheet protectors. It’s that simple! No cutting and laminating required.
- Play-Based: These interactive, hands-on activities are built to engage little minds, use multiple senses, and make learning ridiculously fun.

Hidden Shapes
Help complete each honeycomb with bees. Then count how many bees you used and identify the number by marking it.
This activity is so much fun and includes a surprise! As you cover each bug that has a “light” it will create a hidden shape. Mark the shape found in the jars shown below with any small marker.
Bug Box Counting
Butterfly Patterns
Collecting bugs in a fun box is always a favorite for kids. For this activity we are comparing bugs and filling the box with the correct number of each.
Complete the beautiful butterfly wings when you finish the shape patterns.
Alphabet Jar
Bug love sweet stuff and they love the cookie jar! Find the letters inside the jar that match the target letter shown. We used plastic ants, but you could also use pom poms.
