This is one of my preschoolers’ favorite themes of the year! They love learning about plants, and all the wonders of a garden. One of their favorite activities is planting their own seeds and watching them grow. They also enjoy pretending to be gardeners, as they explore nature through play. Here are some other fun garden-themed activities you can do in the classroom!

GARDEN PRESCHOOL MATH ACTIVITIES

It’s time for garden math fun! Count and sort seeds, compare quantities with “more or less” counting, and build number sense with flower-building activities. Explore 10 frames, count vegetables in the garden, and create colorful patterns with flowers. There are SO many hands-on ways to grow math skills with these garden-themed preschool activities!

SPRING GARDEN COUNTING

Watch as the plants sprout their leaves in the spring. Place the correct number of leaves on each plant or use green pipe cleaners or even playdough for added fine motor practice.

FLOWER GARDEN MATH FUN

Practice number sense while building your flowers in each pot. Use velcro or magnets on the pieces to attach.
