My motto at, Planning Playtime, is, “The Family that Plays Together, Stays Together.” I love playtime because it allows you to connect with your kids, create bonding memories, and often, learn some things along the way. Playtime at our house is huge priority, and we have some fun things coming up this next month.

Bridal Veil Falls
Bridal Veil Falls is the perfect outdoor escape for my family. The paved river trail to the falls allow you to roller blade, bike, or push a stroller, a huge plus when you have small children with you. The trail is shaded much of the way, and there is grass and picnic benches to stop, play in, and eat that carefully prepared picnic.
The falls themselves are a breathtaking vision of water cascading down the canyon wall, and you can enjoy the view while the children dip their toes in the shallow pool below. The best part is the amazing fish pond where the children can watch the fish zipping back and forth, trying to catch floating crumbs of half-eaten sandwiches and fish food from the available dispenser. This is where we spend most of our time.
Spanish Fork Splash Pad
Another one of our favorite stops is the Springville Splash Pad. The free city park is our favorite splash pad in the Utah Valley. Water pours out of a waterfall and weaves its way, back and forth, through the park. Along the way there are statues shooting out water and watching over the play. At the end of the river, fountains shoot up in random patterns, leaving the children guessing what where to run next.
There is also a playground for the children wanting a break from the water fun, and the best part is the beautiful shade trees for the moms who are watching from the sidelines.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this list of fun family activity ideas in the central Utah area. Take your kids out this summer and enjoy some quality family time.

My kids would love all of these places if we lived in Utah. They would enjoy the Discovery Gateway museum especially!
We love kid museums. There are so many fun family activities in Utah, and we hope to hit a lot of them this summer.
What great ideas! Thanks for sharing this and giving so many ideas for fun family days.
Family fun activities are very important at our house, and there are so many great ones in Utah. We can’t wait to get started on some of these this summer.
I used to take my three kids to the Science Museum in Orlando when they were little. There is so much to learn for the young and old. I think it is a sometimes forgotten experience but it is worth the year membership investment when your kids are young. If you are ever in Orlando, be sure to check out the Science museum http://www.osc.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=section&layout=blog&id=1&Itemid=2
I think your family would love it!
We are not in Orlando, but we have several science museums nearby. We went to one a couple of months ago, but plan to visit several more this summer. My kids are science obsessed.
