The alphabet printables can be used with only a dry-erase marker, or you can add playdough, buttons, cubes, magnetic letters, mini erasers, or other manipulatives to make the activities more hands-on.

ALPHABET PRINTABLES AND ACTIVITIES

Our favorite way to use these alphabet printables is in a binder. Print the pages and place two pages in each sheet protector, one facing the front and one facing the back. You can also laminate the pages and punch them with a three-hole punch.

Once the pages are inside the binder, they are ready for repeatable alphabet practice at school or at home.

Hands-On Alphabet Binder Activities

Each activity gives children a different way to recognize, form, trace, and match uppercase and lowercase letters while building fine motor skills.

Alphabet 4 Ways Printable

This activity gives children four ways to practice each letter. They can rainbow write the uppercase and lowercase letters, trace them, find matching letters, and identify a picture with the correct beginning sound.

Use clear counters for the letter find so children can still see the letters underneath. Buttons, flat marbles, playdough, or magnetic letters work well too.

Children can trace the large bubble letters or roll playdough into strips and shape each uppercase and lowercase letter.

Cover the matching letter bubbles with buttons, clear counters, flat marbles, or playdough balls. When using playdough, children can press or “pop” each matching letter as they find it.

Children find and cover the matching uppercase and lowercase letters, then trace and write the focus letter.

Switch the manipulatives to match your classroom theme. Try dinosaurs, mini gift boxes, gingerbread crackers, goldfish crackers, candy hearts, cubes, buttons, or mini erasers.

Reusable Letter Practice

Because the pages are stored in sheet protectors, children can use dry-erase markers and manipulatives to complete them repeatedly. This makes the binder a practical option for centers, small groups, intervention practice, and independent work.
