November Writing Prompts

November Writing Prompts - Opinion, Narrative, and Informative.

The November writing prompts are here, and they are a lot of fun. November is such a great month to enjoy those last few weeks of fall and start settling in for winter. It’s a month that always makes me feel like snuggling up in a blanket in front of the fire with one of my favorite books, and just getting lost in the story. The writing prompt topics for this month try to capture some of my favorite parts of November, with an extra twist of fun to go with it.

One thing I always enjoy most about November is getting together with my family to celebrate a day of Thanksgiving. I’ve included that feeling in a couple of the prompts where the children will get to write about their favorite thing to do with their family and the nicest thing someone has ever done for them. Then it gets a little more lighthearted with the children imagining how aliens would celebrate Thanksgiving.

Baking is family tradition that we participate in often during the month of November. The children will get to write an informative piece on How to Bake Cupcakes. They will also get to imagine being royalty or how ants could plot to take over the world.

The opinion pieces for this month include simple topics like, what is your favorite TV show and would you prefer hot chocolate or apple cider. They also include a more serious topic, the child’s opinion about seat belts. All of these topics are a great way to start forming and sharing a persuasive opinion.
