Starfish Letter Bingo
There are so many fun ways to play with these starfish letter cards. You can do a Go Fish style game, memory, or lay them out for a bingo game or cover them with a matching toy letter.
Ocean Beginning Sounds
Learning to recognize beginning sounds is a great preschool/kindergarten skill. For this activity, children can choose sea creatures and then find their beginning letter sound to place next to it.
Jellyfish Tentacles Counting
Playdough is a favorite with my kiddos. For this fun activity, you can roll out the correct number of tentacles and place them under the jellyfish.
Divers I Spy Fish Counting
Pretend to be a diver. What can you see? Count the sea creatures listed on each card into the ocean scene.
Ocean Shells Color Sorting
Color sorting is a lot of fun. In this seashell themed game children can sort colored shells, beads, blocks, Legos or whatever loose parts you have lying around onto the shells.
Sand Toys Letter Matching
Have you tried a sand sensory bin in the summer? These are a fun addition to that. Children can match the buckets and shovels, and if you have these cool clips, the children can even link them together. The fine motor practice is a great bonus.
Shell Count and Collect
My kiddos love playing with seashells. You can use traditional shells or something a bit different like these cute, colored starfish manipulatives.
Seashell Sight Words
For more fun with sand, try writing your sight words in them. You can then line the words with shells.
In the Ocean Counting
I found the cutest little fish mini erasers this week, and we used them for counting sea creatures into our ocean. You could also use buttons or other fun ocean themed manipulatives.
Starfish Letter Matching
Find a clothespins that has the matching letter. This is great for fine motor skills as well as the letter matching.
Fish Playdough Shapes
This is one of our all time favorite shapes activities. We make the shapes out of playdough. You could also line the shapes with buttons or cubes.
Whale Spout Measurement
Non-standard measurement is a very early math skill. Here the children are measuring how high with our favorite snap cubes.
Octopus Color Matching
This beaded octopus is another great fine motor activity as well as color matching. Just punch holes in the color circles, tie on strings and then add the beads.
Shell Counting 10 Frames
