Tens and Ones Cupcake Place Value
If your students love cupcakes and playdough, this is going to be a huge hit. We’ve included printable candles, but if you have some actual candles lying around, those are even more fun.
Cupcake 10s and 1s Memory Place Value Game
Cupcake liner memory is a huge favorite around here, and we love using it to study tens and ones place value. You can use traditional cupcake liners, or these silicon baking cups are much more hardy.
*Wish you knew where we got our supplies and manipulatives? We’re now leaving links to show you right where to find them. It makes your life easier, and they even give us a small commission when you buy through our links.
Pig Builders Place Value, 10s and 1s
There is a serious 3 Little Pigs theme going on in this awesome place value game. Make your own bundles of 10 sticks, and if they are the multi colored craft sticks, even better.
10s an 1s Place Value Counting
We used our favorite mini bug erasers for this activity, but you could also use seeds, buttons, mini pom poms, or other fun little markers.
Fishing for Place Value
Kids LOVE to go magnet fishing, and this place value game is perfect for fishing practice. How many tens and ones can you find in the pond?
Paint it Place Value
For this activity we are finding how many ones we have to add to the ten to get our number, and we’re getting some fine motor and hand strength practice at the same time.
Build it with 10s and 1s Cards
Building the number is a great way to see the tens and ones in this place value game. We used a construction theme, and if you have a little yellow dump truck, that might be the perfect thing to haul the snap cubes with.
Dominoes Place Value
This place value activity is a little more advanced, but it is a lot of fun. We used our favorite colored dominoes for this one.
Fish Bowl Place Value
Number bonds with tens and ones are the theme of this fun fish bowl activity. My kids LOVE these colored plastic fish, but goldfish crackers would also be a huge hit.
Making 10 Shirt Buttons
This game is simple, but the kids really enjoyed picking out buttons for the shirt. A recording sheet is included, so you can write down all of your number sentences to make ten.
Making 10 Memory
The dog needs ten bones. Fill up the bowl with however many more bones he needs to make his ten.
10s and 1s Caterpillar Build-a-Bug
My kids LOVE this Build-a-Bug place value game. You start with a stick of 10 bug sections, and then add as many ones as you need to complete the number.

Cool thanks!
Do you have grade 4 math and science instructional materials like what you have shared?
Hi Merly,
Right now we create products for preschool through first grade. We may be able to create 4th grade products at a later date, but for now, we recommend you check out TeachersPayTeachers. There are some fantastic resources there for that age group. -Amy N.
Hi. I’m looking to just purchase your Build a 15 strips that you have for place value. I’m looking for them like in strips, not on a full size paper. Is this something you can make for me and I purchase?
Unfortunatly, we are not able to do custom orders at this time.
