Anytime we are teaching early math we need to cover different parts of number sense. In the following math activities, you’ll find counting, subitizing, games, and more to teach number sense during your preschool Snowman theme.
How Many Teeth Counting
Counting is great for preschoolers, and this mouth 10 frame is just waiting to be filled with teeth. We used our favorite snap cubes, but you could use legos, large white beans, or other similar markers.
Tooth Fairy Bingo (10 Frames)
Bingo games are always a hit with my kids. We combined some 10 frames counting with number recognition for this activity. You can find the erasers we used here.
This is a speed game that is full of counting fun. Who will be the first to brush those tooth germs? The kids will love this one.

Isn’t this the cutest little tooth friend, and the best part is, the children have to do a lot of counting practice to make him.
Tooth Fairy Counting
Help the tooth fairy count her teeth, and get some great fine motor practice at the same time.

These find and clip teeth are great for counting and letter matching practice. They’re easy to make and store for a simple center.

We love this fun color matching center, and the children can pretend to brush the teeth before they attach the tooth brush.
I Love My Teeth Name Crowns
We love this crown to send home at the end of the Dental Health Unit. Children have learned all about teeth and how to take care of them. Now they can proudly display their completion of the unit with this cute crown, and hey, it’s great name practice too.
Tracing and writing sight words is always excellent practice, but getting to erase with a real tooth brush??? That is just too fun!
Molar Memory Letter Matching
Do your kids love to play memory? Mine sure do. For this dental health game we used a tooth fairy theme. Children have to help the tooth fairy put the correct letter teeth in their matching letter bag. Whoever finds the most matches wins.

What better way to teach the proper way to brush and floss than with your own, hand-held mouth model? We flossed our teeth with yarn and got some good teeth brushing technique practice.
My Tooth Book Craft
Don’t you just love the shape of this book? It’s super cute, and it’s filled with simple reader friendly sentences about what teeth do and how to keep them healthy.
Inside a Tooth Craft
If you want to be a bit more scientific about teeth, this craft is a fun idea. Children get to open up a tooth and see what it might look like inside. The bottom page has labeled sections to show where the enamel, dentin, and pulp are. We used colored paper to show the different parts of the tooth.
Brush & Trace Letter Sensory Bin
Looking for a more sensory activity? The kids will love this one. Hide the letter teeth in a bin of salt or sand, and then give the children tooth brushes to dig around with. They can brush off and find the letter teeth. Then trace them on the included recording sheets.
Playdough Floss Shapes
Playdough is a favorite with my kids, and we used it here to practice making shapes. These floss containers are not all the same, but we can make the shape of each one.
