As a mother of 4 beautiful girls, I sometimes wonder if I would have been better served attending Cosmetology school rather than the school of Accountancy. There is a lot of hair to be done around here each morning.
One of my daughters has what she frustratingly refers to as, “Hair Problems.” Her hair is fine, thin, a little bit wavy, and it tangles faster than my son can sneak treats. Trust me, that’s fast!! Ever since her baby hair grew out we have had trouble combing her hair. She screams/cries for 15 minutes every morning while I work on her hair, and has for years!! Then, she leaves for school with red swollen eyes, and I wonder what her teacher thinks of her home life. I’ve tried so many different types of combs, brushes, and conditioners with little success.

Then, finally, after 7ish years of being the meanest mom in the mornings, I found the right kind of brush. We affectionately dubbed it, “The Magic Brush,” a fitting name for the Knot Genie don’t you think? It doesn’t have a handle, it’s very lightweight, and it didn’t impress me when I saw it. When you’re desperate though, you’ll try just about anything. This is one of those moments when desperation paid off.
I can’t tell you how grateful I am that we found this brush. In two words, “It’s Amazing!!” Instead of a 15 minute torture session, it now takes about 5 minutes to brush out her hair. During that time, she rarely sheds a tear. There is an occasional groan, but hey, I’ll take it. Her hair is smooth and workable when I’m finished, and I no longer have to worry about her teacher calling child services on me.
This brush has become a item of extreme importance in our house. We have to know it’s location at all times, and losing it is not an option. If you also have a child with, “Hair Problems,” or just want to make your life a little bit easier, I would absolutely recommend this brush. It’s totally worth buying.

Your daughter has beautiful hair. I know about being the meaniest mommy when it comes to hair. My daughter had long curly hair, we used to wake up early in the mornings for school to have time to do her hair. I hated mornings!! Wish I had the knot genie for my daughters hair! Great you found something that works for her hair!!!
Would love the brush to look & feel beautiful and my hair would be amazing & happy. Thank you for the lovely chance!
Because it’s so hard to brush my girl’s hair!
my Irish hair is screaming out for it! Lol
She has beautiful hair, but I can see how it is a lot of work. Yay for no more people questioning your child showing up with tear stained eyes!
I didn’t see the note about needing to live in the US before it was too late so I apologise for entering! 🙂
But I can still say that this is something we will have to look into as both my smalls have long curly hair and the smallest, my youngest son, is very sensitive to combing his hair, so I think this would be perfect. 🙂
My daughter got a hairbrush stuck in her hair this morning! We need this!
my husband has 3 granddaughters with fine, thin hair. All of them give his daughter a hard time in the morning when it comes time to brush because overnight it seems like their hair has become a knotted mess. I think this would make it easier for them to get their hair brushed and not have it be a painful experience.
This would be perfect for my daughter and I we both have hair past our bottoms! Long long long fine hair. Needless to say it’s a 20 minute battle every day several times a day to un-knot it all. Thanks for sharing the Knot Genie with us~!
Also try using sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner. They are a little more expensive, but boy have they made a difference for my 4 girls (and me).
Thank you so much! I will have to try that out.
